Biga: "2 Sessions Outside, One@Home and Something to Ask..." Mixtape..!!!

"2 Sessioni Fuori,Una in Casa e Qualcosa da Chiederti" is another 'one track mix', full of 60's/70's Psychedelic Rock from many parts of this World (stuff from Peru, Belgium, Chile, Russia, Portugal, Italy etc.) some obscure, some not. You'll find some Pokora titles mixed up with post-rock tracks (or indie as you prefer to call it) from the end of the 90's/beginning of 2000 and some more recent stuff like OBO (Oshinoko Bunker Orchestra) or Pavel Dovgal.
Anyway everything is "handmade", it means hands on vinyl & live mixing, totally uncut stuff, this is the meaning of the title track "2 Sessions Outside, One@Home and Something to Ask..."

Biga: what is a DJ if he can't MIXTAPE!?!

There was a time when the DJ was the collector and the dispenser of acoustical knowledge through the arts of selection and the fine techniques of mixing.... those who distinguished themselves were completely committed ... and always ON point!! ......
This would be true if people like Biga didn't make you realize that there still are many dj's out there that do their homework and have the tendency to deliver..!..
Here we post Biga's 3 last mixtapes that..., straight up and down, you do not want to miss!!
All 3 mixtapes are a fine example of mixing and selection, like a ride that keeps bringing you somewhere new without knowing how you got there.

"El Climatico" features some of Biga's favorite tracks going from salsa to hip hop, to soul and some of those everlasting jazzy-funk tracks that make you wanna thank people like Biga for collecting records. It features tracks from Hector Lavoe, Krs-One, Parliament, Augustus Pablo and Madlib....just to give an idea...
In the words of Biga: "This is 'El Climatico' recorded and mixed by Biga in August 2007. The wonderful art cover is by Mateo Rivano. Many thanks to Bubu, Igor and Joao for the contribution in making it."

While "El Climatico" is more like a "Manifesto" of Biga's Dj-ing in the past years, "Som Barato" and "Bombe Turche" are the result of international DIGGIN'. A real record collector will travel to find his records and to understand what that particular music is all about. Getting down with the people that particular music was made for is the best way to understand a particular groove and that's exactly what Biga has done.

"Som Barato" is a mix of some crazy brazilian tunes that go deep into Brazil's musical culture bypassing the well known Verve bossa nova's to reach the samba, the ballads... the people's choice: a "Cheap Sound"! Needless to say there's nothing cheap about it, besides the fact that you get to download for FREE!!!
As for "El Climatico" the insane artwork is by Mateo Rivano!

"Nar Suyu Portakal Suyu a.k.a. Bombe Turche" ("Turkish Bombs") brings us to the proud country of Turkey. The turkish musical industry is huge and Biga has here selected Strictly 7"s of Turkish Funk, Folk and Psychedelic Breaks.
A little somethin' for those that have heard everything.. ;)

We will be proudly hosting Moltoanalogico featuring our friend Cee Mass a.k.a. The Night Skinny on Saturday, July 10th @ Firenze Cite' Aperta within the Limonaia di Villa Strozzi. From 7pm to 2am, from the aperitivo to the dj session powered by an awesome custom made Sound System which goes by the name of Joker Smoker..
The Night Skinny will be doin' his set full of original underground productions including the works contained in his very appreciated first album: "Metropolis Stepson".
We will all be doin our thang, before and after, including Digi G'Alessio's Molotown" liveset and Millelemmi and Daretta's "Reading, Raps and Electronics" in the theatre.

Millelemmi's "Nosocomio Tungsteno"!!!

"Noso-comio Tung-steno eno ...Noso-comio Tung....!!"....Now, if you don't speak italian you might not know what exactly this means..but we assure you that you'll find yourself repeating these obscure sounds after listening to Millelemmi's "dissected" dialect. Phonemes and meanings are elegantly used and abused just as new music is created from used and abused synths, records or toys all fused into a very personal, original and yet familiar way. All homemade mostly with his MPC and MIC and with a little bit of help from his friends Franco Crudo and Jaja with the appropriate scrathing and Simone Zaccagnini with the appropriate artwork. This is one of those albums where you'd like to thank the inventor of the "skip back" button on your player, whether you're exploring the layers of meaning of words or the puzzle shaped sounds... In other words..if you have ears you must have this album and that's where it gets easy: it's FREE!!

Here's some music from a non-musician! Lo Zac or Low'N'Zak, better known as Simone Zaccagnini, he's actually a visual/drawing artist. His work is all handmade and when his eyes are tired he boots up his old pc and starts messin with samples on an old version of Cubase Sx.. Manuele Atzeni and his "Beats For The Sleepwalker"!!!

Ladies and gentelmen, we ask you not to disturb the sleepwalker. The sleepwalker's synapsis pattern reveals calm and continuos brain function, this pattern should not be disturbed. Everyone knows how dangerous it can be to wake up a sleepwalker, and this could be a hint on what happens on track 5!!
Manuele Atzeni's second album comes straight out of his room (as you can see) appearing as the first release for hometown's newborn Woobo Records!! As we live in a material world, my friends, not all can be free. But luckily, sometimes we're able to give things a decent price and give you the possibility to give us some means and encouragement (at the least!) in order to continue to make music. So if you dig...., show some love and if you can't ....we love feedback too.. it's all good, it's all about the music!!
