'Lil Pitch Records celebrates its first release with the spectacular collaboration between Ether and Pinch, Bristol's dubstep godfather, Tectonic Recordings founder and resident dj at London's Fabric. Andrea Bracali and Francesco Bigazzi confirm themselves to be among the diamond points of Italy's electronic music scene, developing in a totally original way (their way) already consolidated languages like the ones of idm, abstract hip-hop, downtempo and skwee. The use of samplers and analogue synthesizers is easily recognizable in the three unreleased tracks that compose side A: three tunes of a unique freshness that give Florence's duo the status of sacred cows for how much concerns silicium sounds forged inside Italy's borders. Side B is entirely occupied by the remix Pinch has worked on in an impeccable manner, giving the track those distinctive traces that allowed him to spread his music all around the world. So Beghe (Pinch rmx) turns out to be the ideal bridge between those relaxed/relaxing beats that are typical of Ether and those dark and introspective atmospheres of dubstep, the genre that more than any other has set fire to european clubs during the last decade. "2 Sessioni Fuori,Una in Casa e Qualcosa da Chiederti" is another 'one track mix', full of 60's/70's Psychedelic Rock from many parts of this World (stuff from Peru, Belgium, Chile, Russia, Portugal, Italy etc.) some obscure, some not. You'll find some Pokora titles mixed up with post-rock tracks (or indie as you prefer to call it) from the end of the 90's/beginning of 2000 and some more recent stuff like OBO (Oshinoko Bunker Orchestra) or Pavel Dovgal. Anyway everything is "handmade", it means hands on vinyl & live mixing, totally uncut stuff, this is the meaning of the title track "2 Sessions Outside, One@Home and Something to Ask..." His second release for 2010 "No Doubt Fare Night" is a 5 track EP, a prelude to the forthcoming album and another example of Colossius' unique style: 13 minutes of pure, warm, analog, crunchy medicine for your ears. The crazy thing about this EP is how Colossius is able to stay within that thin line that separates subtleness from pure strenth giving the widest possible forms of listening....wether you're rockin' with Paolo VI on your headphones or dodging some Donoratic Asteroids while testing out your subwoofers..!.. His work is all handmade and when his eyes are tired he boots up his old pc and starts messin with samples on an old version of Cubase Sx.. Manuele Atzeni's second album comes straight out of his room (as you can see) appearing as the first release for hometown's newborn Woobo Records!! As we live in a material world, my friends, not all can be free. But luckily, sometimes we're able to give things a decent price and give you the possibility to give us some means and encouragement (at the least!) in order to continue to make music. Overknights is a collective of dj's, producers, mc's and one drawer based in Florence, Italy.
A group of ten with common tastes and different styles, as well as a variety of musical backgrounds, ranging from hip hop, jazz and punk, to techno and many other genres of 'electronic' music. Their particular 'sound' lies between the different styles found throughout individual productions as well as many internal projects and collabo's.
The result is a mist of hip hop, funk and wonky/skwee.
